Getting Started
1. Tap Import to load a PDF file.
2. Choose applicable Region rules.
3. In Automatic mode, tap Detect.
4. Tap Apply to create redaction boxes.
5. Switch to Manual mode to fine-tune boxes if needed.
6. Tap Export to save the final PDF.
Redaction Modes
Automatic Mode
Automatically detects:
ID numbers
Phone numbers
Email addresses
Bank cards
Manual Mode
Draw directly on the document to hide selected areas.
You can also edit existing redaction boxes in this mode.
Manual mode is recommended when automatic detection misses content,
or when you need to adjust box position/size.
Edit Existing Redaction Boxes (New)
Both automatic and manual redaction boxes support secondary editing.
1. Switch to Manual mode.
2. Long press a box (about 0.35s) to enter edit mode.
3. Drag the box to move it.
4. Use two fingers to pinch and resize the box.
5. Tap blank area to exit edit mode.
If dragging does not move a box, long press it first.
Region & Rule Management
To reduce false detection, RedactPDF allows you to enable rules
based on regions.

Tap Region → Select countries → Confirm.
Enabling unnecessary regions may cause false redaction.
Undo & Redo
Undo: Cancel the latest redaction action or box adjustment
Redo: Restore the canceled action
Use Undo/Redo in manual workflow when creating or fine-tuning boxes.
Privacy & Security
All processing is done locally
No files are uploaded
No data is collected
Export uses irreversible rendering to prevent content recovery from removed overlays
Please make sure the file is not corrupted
and you are using the latest version.
Does RedactPDF upload my files?
No. All processing is done locally.
Can I recover redacted content?
No. Exported redacted PDFs are generated with irreversible rendering,
so hidden content cannot be restored by deleting overlay objects.
Why is nothing detected?
Some PDFs are scanned images without a text layer.
Please use manual mode.
Why can't I directly drag an existing redaction box?
You must long press the box first to enter edit mode,
then drag or pinch to resize.
Why does manual redaction sometimes fail?
In Manual Mode, redaction works on a per-page basis.
If your selection spans across multiple pages,
the redaction may not be applied correctly.
Please select within a single page.
